On Friday the 23rd February we hosted our first State of the union event of the year. The theme was based on ‘I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here’ - we rustled up a wide selection of fun and challenging Bush tucker trials for our camp-mates to complete all around the office.
Prizes
We started by welcoming everyone into the atrium for a refreshment at the Bush tucker Bar, and started the day off on a high with a quiz, a random raffle and some prizes including:
- £100 Supermarket Voucher
- £100 Retail Therapy Voucher
- £100 Ticketmaster Voucher
- £100 Buy A Gift Voucher
- Amazon Echo Show
Trials & Pizza
Staff were then divided into 8 x outback inspired teams and took off around the PiP HQ to take on the trials. We engaged our senses with ‘The Dreaded Diner’, putting our taste to the test! Pairs worked together testing their co-ordination on the “Hell Hoop!” using paddles to slam dunk various sized items into the office Hoop! We also put our detective hat’s on in padlock panic deciphering clues to win stars for camp! Just to name a few…
After a busy trial filled morning it was nearly time for lunch! So we stocked up the Jungle Kiosk with a selection of Dominos Pizza, sides and drinks.
Business Review
With our teams re-fuelled and ready for action we returned for even more games around the office. Teams also attended a business review with our CEO, Mike Dalloz, and COO, Alex Breingan, giving everyone a roundup over the previous months, outlining business success stories and statistics.
We shared big news in the company and exciting projects for the future. It’s a great opportunity to get everyone together to celebrate and have an open conversation reflecting on our performance in recent months.
The Finale
The time had come to count up our stars! By 15:00 everyone was back to camp and ready to find out which team won the most stars. It was a close-run competition with the top three teams on joint 2nd place – so we asked a tie-break question to establish a second position.
For the finale, the top two teams had a final challenge to complete. They were given a selection of materials and were tasked to build the strongest bridge possible! Mike, our CEO, judged which team had the best engineering skills on the day using variously weighted items for the final nail-biting finish.
Crowning the kings and queens of the PIP Jungle!
‘Team Koala’ were crowned the overall winners – the Kings and Queens of the PiP jungle! They were each awarded a French Franks voucher to treat themselves to a celebratory lunch.
When all was said and done, we left it all in the jungle and reconvened at the pub for a final indulgence with a drink and meal on PiP.
