PiP get workplace health checks with 1Leisure!

Wednesday 22nd January 2020

On Monday Performance in People (PiP) were joined by 1Leisure who were offering complimentary health checks for staff within businesses on the Isle of Wight.

Staff were given the opportunity to receive a 10-minute appointment with 1Leisure who provided health guidance and key statistics including: blood pressure, weight, body fat %, visceral fat %, muscle % and BMI.

PiP recognises the importance of your wellbeing and provides a number of workplace benefits to encourage a healthy workforce which includes gym membership contributions, yoga, relaxation classes, personalised water bottles and weekly fresh fruit deliveries.

Last Monday was also ‘Blue Monday’ which was a concept coined by the psychologist Cliff Arnall. Arnall asserted the third Monday in January is the ‘most depressing day of the year’. He created a formula which took into account a number of factors likely to contribute to low mood.

It is no secret that there are a number of factors can have an influence on our wellbeing and mental health, such as the amount of exercise we undertake, our choice of diet, the amount of sleep we get each night, our social lives and hobbies. If you are feeling a bit low or not quite your usual self, try focusing on just one of these factors at a time. It is guaranteed to make a considerable difference to how you feel and naturally lift your mood.
