PiP fundraises for the IOW Christmas Toy Appeal & Food Bank

Monday 16th December 2019

Every year Performance in People (PiP) likes to share the festive spirit by fundraising for a special cause. In previous years PiP has supported the Shoebox Appeal and raised money for Save the Children on Christmas Jumper Day. This year PiP decided to focus on supporting a cause closer to home.

The Isle of Wight Christmas Toy Appeal helps to brighten up Christmas for less fortunate children living here on the Isle of Wight. These are children who, for a variety of reasons, are finding Christmas tough –sickness, a recent bereavement or another crisis in their lives, or perhaps their family just can’t afford presents this year. Staff within the company made a generous contribution of new, unwrapped toy which will then be wrapped by the charity and distributed to these individuals in time for Christmas.

And the fundraising doesn’t stop there!... In addition, last Friday PiP had their own Christmas Jumper Day at HQ where PiP raised an amazing £220! This money will be spent on supplies for the foodbank on the island. Every day people in the UK go hungry for reasons ranging from redundancy to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income. A simple box of food makes a big difference, with foodbanks helping prevent crime, housing loss, family breakdown and mental health problems.

A small act of kindness can go a long way. How will you help to make a difference to someone in need this Christmas?
