Introducing Weekly Relaxation Classes at PiP HQ!

Tuesday 30th July 2019

Following the huge success of Mental Health Awareness Week at HQ, Performance in People (PiP) has introduced weekly relaxation classes for all staff. The relaxation class is a 20-minute session which takes place during lunchtime making it easy for people to attend.

WHO RUNS THE CLASS?

PiP’s Yoga Teacher Susan Pike, from Lotus Tree Yoga IOW, hosts the relaxation classes each week.  Susan is a qualified Friends of Yoga teacher and delivers a traditional Bihar style of yoga. Susan brings a relaxed atmosphere to the class and helps you to find a deeper understanding of yourself through movement, meditation and relaxation. Working towards creating a calmer you.

A gift to you from Susan; a breathing meditation exercise.

WHAT’S INVOLVED IN THE CLASS?

During the class staff are given useful take-home techniques which help to calm the mind and de-stress the body. Relaxation is a process that decreases the effects of stress on your mind and body. As well as being a great ‘de-stressor’, relaxation comes with many other benefits including lowering blood pressure, improving digestion, reducing muscle tension and pain, improving concentration and mood, controlling anxiety, improving sleep quality and more!

Looking after your mental health is really important and PiP is continually looking at more ways to promote health and wellbeing in the workplace. Watch this space to see what else we get up to!
