Bestival 2015: Summer of Love

Tuesday 15th September 2015

Last weekend (10th – 15th September), thousands of people gathered for the Summer of Love at Bestival 2015; an award winning four day music festival based at Robin Hill on the Isle of Wight. Bestival broke the world record with the world’s largest disco ball ever made in 2014 and it made a second appearance this Bestival!

Creators Josie & Rob da Bank put together a fantastic line up for this year’s festival. The headliners for the weekend were as follows:

Other acts included: The Jacksons, House of Pain, Jurassic 5, Mark Ronson, Annie Mac, Duke Dumont, Gorgon City, Ella Eyre, Rudimental (DJ), Dub Pistols, and even the Chuckle Brothers!

The wonderful world of Bestival was born out of ten fun years of pioneering music events and record releases from Rob da Bank’s Sunday Best empire. Whilst the massive musical brain of Rob ensures the Bestival line-up is the most eclectic you’ll ever experience, it’s Josie’s creative wand that casts its magic over Bestival land. From the most original boutique campsite experience, to the Bollywood Cocktail Bar, a Wishing Tree Stage, fancy dress en-masse and even a landlocked Port, it’s this uniqueness that makes Bestival a wondrous world of discovery and adventure that will inspire peace, love and dancing not only in September but all year round…

Rob da Bank stated:

“Our theme for 2015 is the Summer of Love… it’s a simple theme and hopefully one that’s easy to embrace. It’s largely a positive reaction to all the bad news and downright evil going on in the world. We’re not hiding our heads in the sand and pretending everything’s rosy and laid-back but we can, as a big family of 50,000 people, come together, listen to music, party and spread love, even if it’s just for the weekend. That has always been at the heart of Bestival and its year-round community. Hate out, love in!”
